Dr. Davey offers a range of psychological services. He provides individual, couples, and family psychotherapy. His therapeutic orientation is eclectic, with aspects of psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and behavioral therapies as indicated by the needs of his patients. He provides these services to patients with a variety of individual concerns and issues.

Through his interest in Health Psychology, Dr. Davey offers treatment to assist patients in coping with and managing ongoing medical issues. Central to his approach is an effort to help patients cope with their medical issues within the contact of a full and functional life, making adjustments as indicated in the hopes of maintaining and developing sustaining vocational, recreational, and relationship activities. Services of this nature can include cognitive-behavioral treatment (for example, stress management), marital and family therapy (including parenting issues), and assisting patients in accessing and utilizing available support services.

Another area in which treatment is offered is in assisting patients who have experienced significant trauma in their lives who find themselves in need of assistance in re-establishing their sense of stability and well-being in the aftermath of such events. Dr. Davey has extensive experience in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder. However, he also provides services to patients experiencing significant personal change, such as families of separation and divorce, sudden loss, financial or vocational stress, and various other traumatic life events.

Another area in which Dr. Davey has worked is in the area of performance enhancement, using primarily cognitive-behavioral, behavioral, and stress management techniques to assist individuals and groups develop strategies to maximize their potential in a variety of areas. He has worked with athletes, work groups, and various others to assist them in areas of personal growth, goal setting, and achievement.
