
Dr. Davey is a native New Englander. He received his A.B. in 1971 at the College of William and Mary in Virginia, where he graduated cum laude with majors in Psychology and Anthropology. He then attended Connecticut College, where he received his M.A. in Psychology in 1973. He received his Ph.D. in 1978 from the Catholic University of America, where he graduated with distinction from the Clinical and Counseling Psycholgy program. During his doctoral training, Dr. Davey completed practica in Child and Developmental Psycholgy, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, and Health Psychology. He completed pre-doctoral training programs at the Washington, D.C., Veterans' Administration Hospital and Childrens' Hospital, also in Washington. He then returned to Massachusetts to complete his doctoral internship at the Bedford Veterans' Administration Hospital.
Dr. Davey began his professional career in 1978 at the Bedford V.A. Hospital, where he worked primarily with veterans of Viet Nam suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and substance abuse. He also was appointed Director of Psychological Training at that facility. He then proceeded to develop his career in the private sector, working first as an associate of Biobehavioral Associates in Brookline, MA, working primarily in the areas of health psychology and stress management, as well as teaching various professional education seminars. He began his private practice in Cambridge, MA in 1980 before moving his practice to Concord, MA, where he now works full-time. In addition to providing clinical services, Dr. Davey also serves as a consultant to several businesses, and is a member of the Special Scientific staff at Emerson Hospital, Concord, MA.
